Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is where the cookie dough meets the road. You can use the dough as a basic Christmas cookie dough…minus the chocolate chips. This is my mom’s recipe that she never had written down. She made it so much that even I memorized it. But, to play it safe…. I wrote it out And, yup, they look more like a bar. Well, around here, time is precious. So instead of making the traditional “cookie” look. I just plop the whole ball of dough and spread it. Then I cut into bars.

Servings: 2 small cookie sheet full or maybe dozen

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  

• 1 Egg
• 1/2 cup Lard
• 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
• 1/2 teaspoon Salt
• 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
• 1 Cup Flour (plus extra) Add a little extra if the dough does not form cookie balls easily.
• 6 Tablespoons Sugar
• 6 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
• Chocolate Chips

Method

 

1. Oven at 350 degrees.
2. Set the chocolate chips aside. Combine everything else. Add more flour as needed until the dough is slightly sticky. Add chocolate chips last. How many ? Totally your call. Some like a LOT…and ….well some don’t. Bake until golden brown.
