Sweet and Sour Sauce

I had some kinda boring frozen pork egg rolls at lunch today. Meh! Fortunately i have a sweet & sour recipe that saved the day. You can easily make this while the egg rolls are in the oven getting hot.

Servings: 18 Enough for a box of eggrolls… about eggrolls

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • Get a medium sized sauce pan. you are gonna dump all the ingredients into this pan.
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch.

Method
 

  1. As you bring this to a boil, use a whisk and combine…till it is one consistancy. Then bring to a boil, stirring all the time and reduce heat to a simmer. Once the sauce thickens up, set aside to cool down a bit. Serve with your egg roll. (makes approximately 1 & 1/2 cups) AND it can be frozen.
