Pea Soup with Kielbasa – Crock Pot

Servings: 6 servings
Course: Chicken, Crock Pot, Pork & Sausage, Soups & Stews

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce kielbasa, cut length wise in half, then into 1/2 inch pieces. (I just used the whole kielbasa. )
  • 1 package (16-ounce) dried split peas, rinsed (you don’t need to soak overnight, which is kinda nice)
  • 3 medium carrots, sliced
  • 2 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 14 & 1/2-ounce cans of low sodium chicken broth … I make my own chicken broth and you can find the recipe HERE
  • 2 cups Hot Water
  • Crock Pot

Method

  1. Heat kielbasa in a small skillet till brown. Then dump everything in the crock pot and cook on low till peas are done. (start in morning, done by dinner time). Let stand 15 minutes to allow thickening.
  2. Serve with warm French Bread. Oh yeah. You got this !
