Hot Apple Cider

Servings: 128 ounces
Course: Crock Pot, Drinks, Holiday

Ingredients

  • 2 64 ounce bottles of apple cider (Not Apple Juice)
  • 6 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2 Teaspoons Whole Allspice
  • 2 Teaspoons Whole Cloves
  • 4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • Cheesecloth
  • Crock Pot
  • Cooking Twine

Method

  1. Bring cider and brown sugar to a boil.
  2. Transfer to the crock pot.
  3. Add cinnamon sticks. (The last few times I’ve made this recipe, I have snapped the cinnamon sticks in half and placed them into the cheesecloth squares. Either way is fine, it just seems to make the cider a little cleaner as you pour some in your cup.)
  4. Cut your cheesecloth into about a 3 to 4 inch squares. Make about 6 squares.
  5. Divide up the allspice and cloves onto the cheesecloth squares.
  6. Tie up and add to the crock pot.
  7. Set crock pot on low and stir every so often.
